Rocks on the Moon....

Well they aren't really on the moon but thats what I think they look like.
I had a friend challenge me to take a certain style of photo, not my usual stuff, just to see if I can.
Well I went to my local rockpool tonight, only to find it was empty for repairs.
So I took shots of the rocks instead.
The lighting is from the large lamps giving off a very bad yellow glow.
I thought about removing the smaller rocks in the middle of the image, but I think it adds to the depth, but I am not so sure now.. :?

Marty,

Not a bad image, and I've battled with this type of lighting before - sometimes you can make it work for you.

In this image I'd try two things:
* burn in the area on the left and see if you can bring out more contrast/detail. It dominates and takes you straight to the left of frame.

* bring out the movement in the right hand side more to fill the void.

Marty, whilst I like it I too think there's a little too much void space on the right. I think you've done well though considering the difficult lighting situation.

A BIT?????

Bugger me that means I know NOTHING about photoshop!
Just another one of those things I need to learn more about.
May I never stop learning.

I like the second one, though I did like the small rocks in the distance in the first one.

Cheers Geoff,
500 times better...!!! the fist version must have been really bad..
Tasadam, just keep trying different things in Photoshop, and you will find the pp that works best for you. And read lots on the web, there are many sites giving great advice.
