From the darkness to the light...

that is what I wanted to do with this image. Suggesting coming from the darkness at the bottom of the image/the grave to the light at the top of the image/the heavens.
It was taken yesterday when there was a bit of fog around, not enough for the type of shots I wanted though.
Cheers,
Owen.

Impressive!
Looking at the extreme foreground (distortion?) I would guess something like a Tokina 12-24 lens, am I right?
I played with that lens the other day in a shop and noticed it did a similar thing.
Great shot though, I am not being critical with that, only curious about the lens. Great subject choice and any more fog you'd lose the tree.
What's the exif info? (shutter speed, f stop and focal length particularly)

Hi Adam. Yes you're right it was the Tokina 12-24 @ 12mm. I had to crop some of the sky out too. It was at f/8 and the shutter speed was 1/20th seconds. I should have manually focused a bit closer, because it's out of focus at the bottom.
Thanks for commenting mate.

F8?
Maybe a tripod and a greater DOF to overcome that minor front issue...
Regardless, I still like it.

Looks good Owen
DoF is fine in this image, the very closest foreground does not need to be perfectly sharp, your eyes are leading to the grave anyway.
I like it

"Cor is that what they wrote on my headstone - hardly worth popping up for a look"
I like the very low angle but IMHO I would have liked to see the foreground tack sharp and the cross out of focus.
Cheers Peter

There are many great images to be had around a graveyard, particularly the older areas. For the Sydney/Newcastle shooters, spend a bit of time around the old convict road through St. Albans and into Wollombi (great graveyard) and on to the Hunter Valley for a sip or two.
I can spend ages roaming around there when I am in the area.

Owen,
not a bad image at all! I like what you've done with this, and I think the amount of fog works nicely.
