Had not used the D2x for a little while so I whipped out this afternoon to see what I could find.
Came up with this Heron flying into the setting sun.
What do you think. C & C Invited

Bob great composition

For me however you haven't quite nailed it. The bird is a little blurred and the highlights a little too strong. Very close though.

I agree with Oneputt...
ALMOST a fantastic image
... Still a good image how it is now
The highlights look fine to me but the slightly blurred bird is my nit.

Bob,
Me too - I think you nearly nailed a great shot. Blurring of bird is a bit distracting but a good attempt nonetheless.
Cheers

Hi Bob
I agree with what has previously been said, perhaps the full reflection of the bird would also have helped in making it a winner. Having said that great capture.

agree with the others,
but a pano crop would improve what you have in my opinion.

Appreciate the C & C guys - wholeheartedly agree with your comments. Focusing on a bird in flight in the last 5 minutes of light for the day ain't so easy. However I really liked the composition and colours and thought it worth keeping/posting for that reason.
Thanks

Bob .... I like the shot as well and well worth keeping....... just add a bit of contrast and saturation then call it art........ trust me
