hey everyone heres a few pics of some of my friends skating today. C&C is cool.

Hi Dan, #2 is great and well #1 would have been better if it wasn't so dark being the background is the main problem here. A flash on this shot would have been the way to go to fill the subject so that he doesn't blend into the background. Still good shots though. These shots are good if you can keep lisght on the subject and we all know that at times is not always possible. I have only tried this once shooting this type of fun but i was lucky with the sun, but if i couldn't have got it right the flash would have gone on. 1 from ages ago.

hey John yea you are right the 2nd is definatley the pick of the two. The lighting was anoying all day the sun would go behind the clouds every 5 seconds. Didnt think to use the flash thanks for the tip I will remember that next time.

No probs dan, the clouds can be a blessing at time just like 1 big diffuser which is ok if you dont have to dark a background, now things could have been differant if he was like a few feet to the right, but still good effort and yeh flash is good for fill if needed, i will also tend to use flash even on a sunny day for fill flash pending on shadows, but have a play and see how you go.
