Hi,

I was trying to get the same light which is on the models back, all along her body. THe flash is outside the door with a 60x60cm Bowens Softbox. Would a longer SoftStrip provide a longer light source, which may spread the light more evenly such that her legs share similar light as her arms?

Agree! She would normally wear shorts like that rolled down at the hips...

anyway, lessons from the shoot were mainly around limitation of the spread of the 60mm box. May need bigger box... was not able to move the flash back in this location.

Does anyone have the Bowens 100x140mm or equivalent, interested in some pics as a reference?

Not a good shot. I would try a large translucent white umbrella and shoot through to give a softer light or bounce the light off a wall.

agree, I dont like the shorts, but my focus is on the lighting.

Thanks for your thoughts Dug, yes, did not think to bounce off the wall which was actually the cause of why I could move the light back.

I have a 140 x 200 bowens softbox with a esprit 500 flash it is very nice, if a bit unwieldy.

Bounce light gives you a lot of options in a confined space

Also, can you recommend a supplier in Melbourne / Aust for it?

Simple lighting very even she is just facing the main light with a little fill light to show the wings.

I will have a look for some others it is a great portrait light you can move from head to head and shoulders to full length without having to move anything.

Perfect example, thats what I pictured the result to be like, even over a full length. Agree, would reduce my time moving lights, and metering, and make for more time shooting the subject.

That's a fine image! Plenty of room for a magazine logo. Lots of visual tension in the pic. Nicely done. It has a sense of good taste even though some might find it as looking a bit uncomfortable. That's a valid reaction and one that's hard to get purposefully.

does anyone have examples using a medium softbox? (larger that 60cm, smaller than 200cm?)
