Hello,
First time down the Great Ocean Road, 12 apostals, and just made it in time to enjoy these pics. PLease critique and let me know how I may improve. Lens flare was anoying, any tips on PP'ing this out in PS7?
I thought I might need a wider lens, but 50mm turned out well, please dont hold punches

I love getting colorful shots out of my 50/1.8 and 85/1.8! Great value!

First one is a nice shot but a bit too 'blue' but the second does it for me. Both are nicely composed and the light is great.

I don't know, but my eye seems to be drawn to horizons that aren't level re the first photo. Could it be straightened and cropped perhaps?
Great time of day for the lighting though.

Yes, agree, the horizon is a little crooked, I would adjust if printing, thanks again.

There have been some great examples of soft water on this forum recently, immediately coming to mind was one at Bondi with a photographer above the chains on the rocks, nice water there.
This works too, surprising. I don't often see photos of soft water from a distance - usually used in a foreground eg water swirling around the kelp in the ocean etc. Overall - yes I think it works and I like it.
I would like to see the same shot earlier, with just a tad more light on the feature apostles in the foreground, helping them show their brilliance - maybe as the sun still captures them, but to get the same water effect, This may mean stopping way down and/or ND filters.
The second one is nice and all but the 1st one is my preference.

yes, agree. I thought the same when I got there, as it was nearly a 2.5 hour drive from Lorne, I was lucky to capture what I did. I had 25 minutes when I arrived, until the sun went under, so I guess I had to make the most of what I had. First one just needs a tad more light on the rock faces / pillars. When I took this, it was very dark, so amazed at the colors.
As for the second one, I think this side is best viewed at first sunrise, which must be planned, but thats in the agenda for next time...

Holy smokes! I used to do Warrnambool to Melbourne in 2 and a half hours! Have times changed or what...
Though I didn't go Great Ocean Rd in that time.
I have a great shot of London Bridge somewhere, before it collapsed. My favourite, though, is Loch Ard Gorge.
