really like the first one, although seeing both eyes would possibly make it better. still good as is though

second one is weakened by the fact that the body is behind the head and the darker areas make it harder for the face to stand out

I'm not a big fan of high key shots, but there's always an exception and that first shot is it. Great image & well processed.

the masking is reminicent of artist Louise Hearman
it's cool

but i think it would work better if the colour was de-saturated a little the dogs head is almost too bold against the white so some tonign down has to be done to make it work

but great to see you experimenting in the end it's a excellent glamour shot of your dog

portrait composition works

#1 is superb - I like this style as it is not that easy to accomplish :)

Thanks everyone :) I'm sure you are all sick to death of my high key shots by now, so I'll give it a rest .....

Wendell - thank you for that, I'll take it as a compliment :) ;) I googled her - she's has done some amazing paintings !!

I just printed out the first shot and gave it to Minnie's owner - they didn't realise I borrowed their dog yesterday ;), so thought I should let them know. I realise on screen it looks too 'contrasty' I spose, but printed out it works really well.

Now I have to find something else to play with  only kidding.

Thanks again

I don't mind the second one but I LOVE the first one. Absolutely beautiful and very classic. Great work mate!

The first one is a corker! Reminds me of this calendar I used to have of Australian animals which were all hand drawn.

Thank you :)

This was the original untouched version - got rid of the body and 'cleaned' up the background, slight dodge and burn ..... or maybe this isn't really a photo anymore ... maybe I played too much :? But I knew what I wanted the original to look like.....

You're a very clever girl and you've done a great job to take the concept to the reality.
