hi folks, one of my sons bought this decanter at a charity shop, it has made in italy on the bottom of it, the tap you see is made of brass and screws out. i was wondering if some of the people
on the forum has saw one and if so what type of wine would
have been in it. thanks

Something fruity and cheap i would imagine. I recall something similar I encountered in a vomitorium in Rome.

Shame abvout the corner of the house in the background right of this image. Distracting, but easy to overlook when you are taking the shot.

thanks willy i wasn't to concerned about the surrounds i just wanted a
clear shot of the bottle. to me it looks pretty old. now i've added some australian content, a blend of draytons rich port and a spanish sherry ,pedro ximenez. very nice.

It's a nice decanter Pa, although I think you've got a bit of an evaporation problem happening there!

Make sure you don't let it drop from that balcony won't you!

I love Pedro Ximenez. I'm struggling to understand mixing it with a port?

Makes the budget stretch further ;) - and it's not a bad mix either, just need to let it sit in a barrell for a little while (something Pa has a bit of trouble with at times!),

Fair enough! PX is a touch on the pricey side, and it's wonderful at this time of the year. Do you:
- drink it as an aperitif
- drink it after dinner
- just drink it? :D

I love the glass decanter BTW.
