Lowland gorilla and baby

I was scrolling through some old shots I took in my D60 days and came across a shot I took in May 04 at Taronga which I thought needed a second look. I cropped it, brought in a Filter>Render>Spotlight in PS2 and this is the result.

wonder if this wouldnt be better with a hint of light around mums face also.
Just the eye area would do. wouldnt need to be as strong as on the baby's face though

not that I dont like it as is. this is a nice pic capturing a tender moment.

I have to agree on this one. A really enviable composition and lighting is well handled, but we do have this thing about eye contact! Even a hint of eye would add heaps, I think. The youngster should remain the strong point.

I like trying to get "natural" shots at the zoos, etc. :) :)
