Northern exposure

Here are some shots from sailing up the West Coast of Northern Norway.

I've just noticed that these photos look very pale and washed out here compared with how they look when I view them through photoshop... I'll post them anyhow - Onyx tells me this is colourspace issues...

As always, comments welcome.

Brilliant pics. Love the 2nd and 4th the best. Only thing Id pick on is the 2nd one looks like the horizon isnt straight. Well done.

love the 2nd one, looks like you can get lost there and have a wonderful time
beautiful bits and pieces all over the place, the light was exceptional too, you must of had a great time
3rd one of the church steeple is very cool, looks very unusual and mysterious

but your last is absolutely wonderful, looks like a magical place

jotted down on my travel list

What a gorgeous place, and beautifully captured! The colours look fine in Safari (which knows aRGB  )

Cheers
Steffen.

All great pics and the colour looks fine. I tried to an experiment awhile back and had two identical pics on screen - one Adobe RGB (which I always work in) and one in sRGB - the result, I am still trying to see the difference 8)

Hehe, just try firefox on Mitchell's pics, and you won't have to strain your eyes to see the difference :)

Cheers

Really like your second and forth shots although the second (as mentioned above) could do with straightening the horizon.

If working in aRGB within Photoshop always convert to sRGB for best web viewing before posting,
that way you will retain the colours that you see.

A great group of images and all quite different.

#1 is probably the weakest for me - a little too dark and not enough interest in the shot for some reason

#2 - I love the jumble of buildings all jammed onto that tiny peninsula

#3 - my pick of these. Simple clean image with great use of perspective & leading lines

#4 - an interesting counterpoint to #1 - this one has everything that #1 lacks for me and the water reflections are a bonus.

All good shots but 4 is my pick, closely followed by 2. The hoizon on 2 does look a little slanted though.

First shot doesn't do anything for me, but the next three are great images.

Second shot is a stunner! Just a tip...look at the last image...see all that empty water in the foreground? Empty foregrounds weaken an image and should be avoided. If there was a boat...or a jumping fish in the foreground then the image would have worked a lot better.

#2 is sunning, just love aerial views!!

#3 looks like a bridge to the skies, very nice one :D

#4 just looks like 3d rendering!! Very cool :)

Thanks all for the comments and tips 8)

For those who like the look of the buildings crammed on the peninsula - here is a similar shot with a longer lens - it is a great little town in which to wander aimlessly...
