Hi All,

Here is a shot of the Eiffel tower about 2 hours ago, just after the Bastile day fire works display.

I think I could have framed it a little better, and had some better colour. Plus it is a little blown out. It has been rotated and resized.

Any comments on how to get some nice night shots would be great.

Unfortinatley I couldnt get any of the fireworks, my camera was with some friends at the time, and I could not get through the sea of people.

EDIT: all taken with a d70s and Tokina 12-24mm or kit lens.

This is looking through a gate into a monastary just near the Pantheon in Paris. 0 editing other than resize.

Here are some Parisian apartments. Slightly over exposed..

More photos here if any one is interested.

Love the 1st one. The monastary gate would have looked great at night with a long exposure.

Well done.

you can shoot with an fstop around f11

5 to 8 seconds when the fireworks are exploding

between explosions put your hand over the lens to minimize the amount of light getting into the exposure(the yuckie clouded bits after the fireworks has exploded)

after about 8 seconds of fireworks bursts and puttign your hand between bursts you will end up with a long exposure that has multiple fireworks bursts in the 1 pic all nicely exposed

perhaps do this next year, it's a great incentive to go back to paris, you lucky duck
