This fellow landed long enough for me to get a shot but the background was muddy water. No PP except cropping.

nice capture,
think it would look better as a lanscape crop above and below the dragonfly

Nice image Oscar. I think the OOF muddy water background works really well contrasting the bright colours of the dragonfly. Croping a bit of the background water off the top of the shot and maybe a little off the plant at the bottom of the shot would highlight the dragonfly a bit more.

But a great shot.

Cheers
John

I like the simple, smooth background, makes me concentrate on the subject... Bugs and things make terrific, interesting subjects when you get up close...

Just wondering if you could make the subject a smidge "brighter" or something with levels maybe?

Hi Mick

Great shot. The right bits are sharp. I take it you used a pretty high speed. The smooth lines of the dragon fly contrast well with the rugged shape of the plant.
