Adelaide Zoo
Popped into the zoo late this afternoon. The sun was getting quite low, producing heaps of awkward shadows.
Here are a couple I'd like some feedback on. Obviously, I have my own thoughts on these, but would like to hear the views of other (better/more experienced) photographers. All three were taken with my D70s and 70-300mm G. The only PP work done was levels and very mild USM (lion shots only). (Can someone tell me the name of this critter please?)

with the last one, you probably need to go closer still.
I think the idea would be to isolate the face. increasing saturation and contrast a bit would make it pop as a portrait. Steve check out my image gallery @

I don't think I can help you identify your critter, a type of Quoll perhaps? I'd prefer to see the furry guy in the left of the fame however. I usually like to see the eyes of the subject looking through the shot rather than out of the frame. Other than that you have some good sharp shots. The shallow DOF and sharp eye of the first are particularly nice.

Thanks Murray. Unfortunately I didn't frame the shot too well. I was aware of this. I tried to crop some of the LHS but didn't like the results I got.
I have cropped in a bit tighter and done a little more PP (thanks Steve) how is this one? Have I overdone it?
