More backstage action taken with my off camera flash - naked no diffuser and judiciously touched over with my photoshop magic brush, more concerned here about accomplishing a certain aesthetic on the the final image

I like these a lot less then your recent work Wendell, I can't quiet put my finger one it, but theys just don't appeal to me. While the lighting is dramatic perhaps its overdone for my tastes, sorry I can be more specific on what isn'ts working for me, I'll have a think about it and maybe come back.
Out of all of these my prefer would be #3 followed closely by #2, but they don't hold a candel to your Backstage hair shots.

Yep, #2 is a beauty. I like the other three also, the highlight in 4 doesn't trouble me.

I Like # 2 and also #4 (I don't mind that #4 is blown, but the fire extinguisher sign in the background is a little distracting)

Is it just me or does the girl in the 1st shot need her fake eyelashes trimmed?

Wendell - I feel that your progression curve has had an exponential leap over the past year. I like them all, and if you did a crop on #4 the hot spot would disappear

Wendell I really like #3 ans #2 in this set. The lighting and pp work is terrific. Love the fell of these 2 images.

Mate, I always look forward to seeing your stuff... I feel as though I always learn something when I view your images...

I really like what the shadows do in #1, and #2 is very very catching... The contrast in #3 and #4 though seem too strong for me, as though the highlights are over-powering, dunno... Just rambling... I would be very bloody happy if I could produce anything like these... I keep coming back to #1 though... Although I'd be tempted to clone out those tiny little hot shpots on her forehead maybe???

I think Chris made a good call with cropping out the hot spot in the background...

Like #4 a lot, it has some action in it with the light reflected off the blinds defining the portraits and the models leaning into the picture - do you have a larger size up on the web?

#3 gets the thumbs up from me.

I'd have to agree with Chris on #4, I think if you crop out the highlight, it'll improve the image a lot - the 'old hand over the bad spot' trick confirms this for me.

My initial interpretation of the hot spot was a snooted flash had overshot its mark and was being projected on to the background.
