New to this form of motorsport, but somehow, I think I enjoyed it

Anyway, pretty poor conditions, MCWB can confirm that :)

nice shots.

there'll probably be someone along shortly to give a more precise answer but i'm pretty sure that you get judged on your performance. the idea being... i think... to drift as much as possible around the track with particular emphasis on the ability to be able to "link" corners, that is to drift from one corner into another or something along those lines. i think battle if you can get past your opponent it' good however you can only pass them in corners? not on straights etc.

EDIT: To add further to this i found this at http://www.drift411.com
Today, drifting is an organized competition, with drivers piloting rear-wheel-drive cars to see who can keep sliding sideways the longest. Winners in drifting competitions are judged on the angle, line, speed and show factor of the drift.

“Angle” is the angle the car takes around the track; the more the rear end hangs out, the better. “Line” refers to taking the correct line around the track and is usually determined beforehand by the judges. “Speed” consists of the car’s speed entering, going through and exiting a turn. “Show factor” actually is judged by a variety of factors, such as the amount of tire smoke, closeness of the car to the wall and reaction of the crowd.

I havent seen much but I believe points are awarded on speed, line and angle. speed through corners combined with the angle of the car to the corner "drift" are the main points winners while still maintaining a traditional racing line.... if that makes sense. the they have battles and expression sessions as well for more points.

I think thats how it all goes... :?:

http://www.driftaustralia.com.au is the web site. I gather theres more info there somewhere

otherwise some great panning there kyle. I like em

edit: Ithink Wil is on the money as well. Its all a bit confusing

A lot of conditions would need to be perfect, but i'd love to see a shot of the front wheels stationary and the rearts spinning like the clappers.

Strange sport that one ... but I guess they judge surfing comps aswell, which is totally up to a judge's interpretation.

#2 is an awesome shot. Great pannning and the 3/4 angle shows off a lot of the car.

Very nice, I especially like #2 of the s15. How far away were you; ie how much did you need to crop from the originals?
