Getting Published

Just wanted to share a short story with you all.
I was out yesterday with JordanP taking photos at the beach. We had a great time and he was kind enough to allow me to borrow his 70-200vr to have a play with
(thanks again Craig). I'll post some shots later from the session as that's not really the story.
Later in the day I logged on to check email and there was an email from a group called Schmap. Apparently they found the photo below on flickr and liked it. They have shortlisted it for publication in their upcoming August edition of the Brisbane directory they are putting together. Considering that it was the 4th or 5th Image that I had taken with my 70-300g and about the 300th or so image I have taken since having a Dslr I am chuffed.
Sure they don't intend to pay me but I will get credit and a link to the large image on my Flickr page and if my image is selected I guess that I can say I have been published.
I only wish that I knew then what I have since learned about photography as I think I would have produced a far better image. Never mind.
The moral of the story being, you never know what is going to happen next, so get out there and enjoy yourself.
Here is a link to a larger copy of the image.
