Yep, no discount because they had 8 lifts open, the fact that there was no snow under them does not matter. The pano is 10 shots and runs at around 7800x1200. Still much fun was had skiing the man made stuff on a total of 3 runs, last year at the same time every run and lift was open, so mother nature is a fickle beast.

Spoke to a few Kiwis last week, they said that the south island is smothered in the white stuff. My last two attempts at NZ skiing were abandoned - no snow. Can you believe it?
Great photo nonetheless.

Ozi, the one time we sent a group there to ski, the volcano erupted causing the snow fields to be closed. we are sending a group there next year though.

John, we have been going that week for 24 years and this was the worst it has been since the late 80's. Yes had fun when skiing but when you only have 3 runs to ski, it gets a bit boring... especially when they are only begginer runs.

Wow, like the pano... It's a magic view from up there eh? I was up there earlier in the year (February) when there was no snow and it was still a magic spot for photography..

Big V / Tony - it would have been so disappointing for everybody concerned, that there was no natural snow
But hey, you have taken some great shots. I prefer #3 looking down the hill with the ski lifts, and the mountains in the background - so refreshing

Hi BigV
pity 'bout the (lack of) snow, but great weather for photography!
I have spent quite some time looking at the first pic. I reckon my fascination is derived from two points: 1) The pic is well composed, has good colour saturation, has good sharpness and therefore looks natural; and 2) I'm impressed by the cleanliness of those goggles! No matter how careful I am, I can never keep mine that clean
Again, love your work.

Nat, there was not enough snow to get them dirty!!!, although she was doing snow boarding for the first time and spent alot of time on her bottom..
