Here's my 1st attempt at a critique post. Initially it was intended for the #10 challenge but I missed the cut (MHD informed me after many emails...thanks MHD) as I did not meet the required criteria to post an entry. Oh well you can't blame a girl for trying!
I would love to know your thoughts on this shot considering it was taken for the challenge.
Creatively I aknowledge from the calibre of entries that I have seen that I fall way short of the mark, but I would appreciate your comments on my image in relation to exposure, DOF etc.
I would also appreciate your comments and opinion on whether or not I would have been disqualified from the challenge due to the "one egg" rule. I think my image points to "one egg" in particular but you may disagree.

Can't say for sure if it would have qualified, it's kind of borderline.
I think it would have been more clear cut if all the unbroken eggs were identical with smilies except for the very next one to be cracked with a sad face.

I like where you were going with the theme.

I would have been tempted to have it more under exposed, to try and get rid of the highlights from the egg heads. I also would have positioned the carton further from the edge of the bench, to get rid of the side of the bench. DOF wise I think you did okay, the egg wisk and bowl are nicely OOF, with the eggs in focus. I personally might have had the entire carton in focus, but you haven't. I don't think that impacts on the image though.

I like your treatment of the concept, and would agree with Raskill re the DOF and OOF. Good shot.

Like the others have said, I like the concept.

I think that having the carton framed the way it is leads is distracting and leads my eye off the image. Perhaps changing the position of the carton so that it is fully in the frame might help.

I also suspect that you would have had to focus more on one of the eggs to make the cut.

I like the concept 99 - very creative
Think I would have removed the bowl in the background and perhaps put the egg box on a darker bench to make the egg box stand out a little more.

My 2 cents worth...

Like the idea - however I don't think it would have qualified, it isn't clear to me which egg is prominent - Mr 'I'm sad I'm about to be squashed' or Mr 'I have just developed post traumatic stress disorder watching my colleague smashed in front of me'

If you have room to move with the depth of field, perhaps you could open the aperture a bit more and focus on one egg in particular?

For framing - I would be inclined to cut more off the left hand side, to make it look more like a long line of eggs...
