Hi guys
Sunset in the North Sea with Fair Isle on the horizon.

Comments welcome. Should I crop some of the water out?

The sky and sea at half way balance doesnt do much for me, colours are excellent, but then I'd prefer a panoramic crop out with less water.

Due to the fact that the water isnt that special in this pic. I would consider removing 90% of the water and keeping the sky. Break your pics into 3 parts water. Mid is sky. Top or Back is upper sky. Try it. Good pic nice colours. :)

Unfortunately this doesn't do anything for me.

It reminds me of some of my travel photos that hold an association with a memory that is special for me, but is just not captured in the photo...

(Can't wait to see some more pics from the trip - the puffin was awesome 8))

I tend to agree with what has been said. I like the colours, though, and think it would be a shame to toss it. Maybe a radical crop could give it a bit more impact by making it more abstract? A had a quick play with it:

What do you reckon?

Cheers

Thanks for the comments guys.

I took many different shots of that sunset with varing compositions. I do have one similar to your crop Steffen, and I do like it. :) Will get around to pp my portrait crop and some of the others over the next few weeks and post the one I like best.

Thanks
Craig
