Hi Eddy,
Contrast and saturation look a bit over-done on my monitor.

Eddy,
the 1st and 3rd shots look a bit soft compared to the 2nd.
Not sure about the colour and saturation as my work monitor is not calibrated.
What post processing did you do?

thanks guys.
i should have mentioned that i added a layer, applied a bit of gaussian blur, and blended them using overlay options. it is my intention from the beginning to create 'soft' looks on these images.

The blur doesn't work for my tastes, I think #1 would be the best of the 3 shots if it was sharper.
As it stands at the moment I think #2 is the best.

Blur can work good for portraits or dreamy subjects.
But for landscapes, I'd prefer sharper image around.

Hi Eddy, Sorry but these don't work for me either. I think #1 has the best composition but I would prefer it to be sharper.
Cheers,
Mick

thanks for the inputs guys. it's good to know what others expect from a landscape composition.

Eddy, seems we all prefer a sharper shot when viewing landscapes. As you were going for effect perhaps you could start with one of your favourite shots and try a few different hues or b&w. It looks like we all preferred the second shot - even the 3rd one (that appears to be a cut of the 2nd) seemed to lose it's appeal, to me, with the blurry effect.
Cheers,
Mick

Maybe it's just me but I find them quite pleasing. Especially the first one. It has a bit the look and feel of a kitsch aquarelle, but seeing this effect achieved in a photograph is intriguing. I don't find the softness objectionable, since there isn't really a main subject as such. Just a nice array of pastels.
I think this has potential and you shouldn't give up on this route too quickly.
Cheers
Steffen.

thanks steffen. and please don't get me wrong..i won't give up this routine just yet...

what i'm saying previously is it is good to know what most people 'approve' in a landscape composition and i will take into account these opinions for my future work..
