This one I like, the light on the platform, people and moving train, great composition and timing.
I think a little more at the top (more sky) might make it look a little less crowded, just a lttle, maybe.
Great shot.
Cheers Rick

yes it was on a tripod and the shot was taken at Sydenham station (on the full size file you can read the station name clearly)

there is more sky in the original and it is a lot brighter, some much so that it dominated the shot and as I wanted the station to be the focus and the destination to be only hinted at I have burnt the crap out of the sky just leaving the hint of light behind center point tower and I also dodged the railway lines back into the photo to help lead your eyes through the shot
this is only a quick rough edit to see what I could get out of the shot and there are lots more ways to edit this

That's an awesome shot Keith. The PPing certainly adds to the image and as you say just gives a hint of the destination.
Really nice.

Very nice shot...
Good composition with the rail track leading to the eerily lit sydney skyline..
Nice work indeed!

Great photo. Great pp'ing. Glad you got up early on your day off.
I think City Rail could use an image like this for their marketing. It sure makes train travel more appealing to me. Now if only we had a train here in Byron. Train Station, no train

Nice one

One of the best shots I've seen here. I love the train, captured at exactly the right moment!

Great shot Keith.
I really enjoy the composition and your eye for detail in this finished image. The cityscape adds to the image while in no way distracts. Motion is well placed with very sharp lines on all stationary ojects - this is a strong emphasis. Timing must have been an important factor.
Dam, I wish I could even think of a shot like this.

A dedicated photographer if ever I saw one...

It amazes me that you weren't approached and had your gear confiscated...

(I am getting rather cynical in my old (mid 40s) age)
