Not Quite! This is a tram wheel discarded at the
TramwayMuseum Sydney south. Apparently these
were considered dangerous after a couple of mishaps
when the wheels caught fire! The guys at the Museum
were more than accomodating with letting me take images,
I even had a young guy give me the guided tour while
snapped away.There are over 45 Trams at the place and
most in full working order.

The San Francisco streetcars - exactly like that one - still run from Fisherman's Wharf to The Castro.

And we're in the process of planning a group visit to the museum for some time in the not too distant future. You didn't happen to pick up any pamphlets and stuff during your visit, perchance?
