Here are a couple of pics of a ring-tail possum that resides in our backyard - he/she seems to be becoming more and more comfortable with our presence.

These are good, although a little over-flashed and the focus in the 2nd is on the paws.
For another approach, I had a lot of fun one night with just a 3-led head torch and auto-focus - have a look at

Thanks for the feedback Justin. No excuse, but I was about to go to bed when I saw the little fella on the fence and, as he didn't seem too startled, I grabbed the camera and metz (with attached soft box) and fired away - I probably should have dropped the aperture down a bit to avoid the selective focusing.
