We had great weather yesterday (even better today!) for the Rally in Mt Crawford. The D200 got a good thrashing, gotta love 5fps! Everyone around me thought I had a machine gun!

Couple of pics..C&C welcome..

Cheers Big V!

The Ford Focus was shot at the 12mm end of my 12-24mm and looks further away than it was - my mates all stepped back as the car came sliding thru about 2 feet from my foot!!

Lovely! These make a great change to the normal closer-in shots, and give a great impression of the location. Well done!

The first one, especially, is a ripper - the foreground provides nice balance, and gives good depth to the image.

If anything, the second one could have had a slightly longer exposure - so the wheels showed a bit of movement. Great shot, however, especially given how close you obviously were :)

Cheers sheepie..

Good call RE the shutter speed on the second shot - with this "inside corner" series I wasn't so keen on panning cos the cars move at such random positions and speeds..prolly should have had the balls to try slowing it down tho!

I've actually found a serious problem with the D200 and it's rapid-fire capability - it's too hard to chose which shot you like the most!!!

 LOL!

You're just showing off now! I'd like to see a larger view of the second shot on the lower row.
How many shots did you take on your day out?

Here ya go sheepie (slight crop)..there's a big chunk of glare off the bonnett in this one so it wouldn't work too well any bigger:

Linked to save dial-uppers!

I took about 300 photo's in all - chucked out only 30 crappy ones and will now filter out the top 10% for submission for publication and selling.

beetleboy - looks like a fun day was had by photographer and camera :)

Nicely framed and can not separate the shots.

The D200 got a good thrashing, gotta love 5fps! Everyone around me thought I had a machine gun!

The sound of 5fps is heaven.

Great shots, Beetleboy.

The wide angle Ford is my pick. My only concern would be the lean to the trees.

Lovely crisp, interesting perspective, rapid fire shots Liam :) I like the first, though I would have probable selected the third image in the 1st row  :)

We do have a lotta blue sky at the moment! This week is meant to be pretty reasonable weather-wise..had lunch on The Parade (Norwood) today after a shoot with a very pregnant friend and the weather was phenomenomenomenal! Blue sky, bright sun 24degs! Perfect!

Hoping we get weather this good for the Rally next year - rumour is we're acquiring the WRC from Perth.....let's hope it's true!

Could be very cool..not sure how easy it is to get 10 frames of animation below the 6Kb limit tho!

Anyone who's willing to try - feel free!

I like the second shot - the perspective is interesting. 5fps certainly does make it hard to choose which images to keep. The D200 is pushing my storage as well :).

I actually discovered the rally by accident today - had to drive to Mt Crawford to pay in advance for a campsite. If I wasn't sick I would have been more curious..

I like the second shot but don't like the lean of the trees. Perhaps it would look even better with a tight crop. I'm also a Subie fan so I like all of that sequence - shame about the amount of glare on the bonnet in some of them - hard not to get some of this with the sun in the background. Good shooting. Cheers, Mick
