I just recieved my Nikon 28-70mm F2.8 in the mail so i put it on the camera (D2H) and shot the first thing i saw when i stepped out of my workshop.
Nice view.
It's a very nice lens, not just because it's brand new, but mostly because it's sharp and in a focal range that my lens collection was deficient in. I will attempt some portraits in the near future to see how it holds up in that department, but i am happy with it already. <-- big smile.

And two Panoramas. Hand held and joined using Panorama Factory.
This was four images.
This was about 20 images but cropped about 5 out.

Great shots Steve and congrats on the new lens. I'm looking forward to your portraits - from what I know of the lens, you will be even happier.
Cheers,
Craig

Steve
A fantastic lens and you've used it well here. I hope you can manage to get a sunset shot from that location before your move to Nowra.

Steve,
Great to see your new toy being put to good use already.
I like the first and the fourth of these.
But you've got lots of playtime ahead of you with this, so go forth and play.

Nice shots Steve. Have you tried it as a portrait lens yet? My 28-70 arrived this week. I'm planning trying it out doing candid portraits at Salamanca tomorrow. But already I have found it fast to focus and sharp as a tack. My only criticism is the lens hood is very tight and difficult to get it on and off. If it performs as well as I expect tomorrow, I'm considering super glueing it to the d200.
Cheers
John

I've been busy at work (packing up and leaving ) so i havent had time to test it as a portrait lens yet. I will though, but maybe not as soon as i would prefer. Maybe next week...... i need to find some suitable victims
I reckon this lens will stay on my camera most of all my lenses. My 85mm 1.4 is still the king of portraits though.
