Fantastic Geoff, what do you say if someone approaches you and asks what you are doing?

I would say I'm just out taking photos of anything that appeals to me, would u like to see? (then chimp with them). If they strongly objected I would offer to delete the images of them. Most people are curious but not enough to ask why you may be taking their photo.

I make a conscious effort NOT to photograph candids of unknown children in public - this (in my opinion) is sadly asking for trouble.

Strong stuff! You are letting the images speak for themselves and this is always is a winning formula. Boody well done!

One of the great things (and free) about meets like today-the zig zag and impromtu sydney meet - we can all swap and change lenses, and share the company of friends!! :)

Agreed, nothing much more fun (and FREE) than getting to play/test lenses that you always wanted but havent got to buy it. :D

Mind if I hijack this:

My version from the 300/4, cant get slow as your 1/50 shutter, had to crack up ISO to 800 and keep shutter at 1/250@f4

I really like both shots, but for me the 2nd is a clear and outright winner, just love the eye contract and the deep lines in her face, a great shot mate.

Geoff,

The expression in the second of these is just superb.

This is what photography is all about

#1 doesn't grab me, but #2 is a great candid. I think the difference is the eye contact, plus I am REALLY distracted by the earbuds in #1

Both great shots. Love the second. The details of the face and the eye contact make the shot.
