Went to Perisher for a week long ski trip with some friends last week, here's a sample of the photos. Had a great time skiing and the snow is very photogenic especially when the snow had just fallen the night before.

Pics taken on a Nikon D70s, Tamron 18-200 f3.5-6.3 XR Di II, Sigma 30mm f1.4
Some photos taken with a circular polariser.

Comments and criticisims welcome.

Strewth the circ pol certainly darkens alpine skies huh...

I like the composition of "Tree under snow clouds", it's good to have a subject that the viewer can come back to after going through the image...

"Josh, me and...", I'd be tempted to try using the flash for fill-in light on the people, as the bright light behind them is making them seem under-exposed in comparison and you lose detail in your subjects.

"Joe feeling cold" cracked me up... I could just about here the whinge from here

Looks like you guys had a ball, and that's the best part!

Cheers.

Thanks for your comments.

Had to be careful with the polariser it some shots it darkened the sky much more than what is desirable.

Using a flash with snow in the scene usually turned out to be a bit of a no, no. It's really surprising how reflective it really is. Using the flash would usually totally blow out the snow. We all went home with pretty nasty sun tans too.

Certainly did have a ball, it's a pity it only lasted a week.

Boney you have some great shots there, as Mudder said, Joe feeling cold sure carries some emotion  Some nice landscapes in there as well. We try to keep it two four images in a post then the others as links
