Hi All, well my photoshop skills are not very good and had been thinking of making a new poster that i put up at the track and so on. With the Nationals coming up soon here in November i thought it would be nice to knock something up so i can put in the window at office. So after some playing around and trying to work out how to do some things i have come up with this and well i am happy with it.
What do you think?
Cheers
John

Looks good, John, but I'd have the name at the top a little easier to read - the ribbon effect doesn't look right to me

I probably wouldn't use that ribbony-cursive font when the rest of the page is using Sans Serif based fonts.

I like the concept and think it works well, there are a few little niggley things that I'd change if it was mine.
The first is the thick white border around the shots, I don't mind a thinner one (to make them look like the whiteborder photos from the chemist) but these are too thick to my liking.
To be more niggley the shot of the girls in the centre.. the gray border seems out of place, as to a certain degree does the photo, particular the close crop.
I hope you find my comments helpful.

Looks good John, I agree with the comments re the fonts and the borders - I think it would be improved by trying those suggestions.
One other thought - this will be advertising, so does that mean you need a
model release from all the people in the poster?
Cheers

Nope mate, not likely but yeh it is just for the track to replace an old 1 i have up there so it is no major worry. prolly dont notice it but the pics were done with the polaroid effect but smmaller pic does not show the inner border and drop shadow too much.

bigger chicks....... see where you got the bike
maybe a chick close-up would be awesome
all in all not bad, the small image of the girls in between the 4 other car images.... not that good
oh and the BLACK backgorund can be replaced by FADED images of events, would make it look more busy but still readable..... worth a try if you like playing around with PP

Looks good John.

I'm sure it will attract the customers. I'd be tempted to give more prominence, somehow, to the Marlboro photo that you had as a page feature in the magazine a while back. Might even be a good idea to have logo or page markers as per magazine page
cheers

hi
i would put the oz-images on top with your contact details.
delete the "get your mug shot" looks and sounds cheap.
would love to see your next one

Thanks Christain, yeh well first time for everything so i will tackle another one soon using the idea's that people have left here and try again, can only get better the more you do them, but as i am not too fussed as hey they go in on a board and ppl pinch them etc.. so i will try another and then maybe get a few colour copied as that is cheaper.
Thanks
