Probably best not to view this at work.

Unless you work at a sex shop.

Image

Ingredients: $2 mousetrap, $2.50 motorised Wind-Up Supra Jolly Pecker with the motor removed, tartare sauce, lubricant, fake blood (one of the various types I've made).

It's a wee bit different to the sort of image I'd normally shoot or post, but I wanted to try something a bit extreme... a bit Mapplethorpish... so it's almost a tribute... except it probably isn't unless it is... what do people think?

Hmm, where to start? First of all, I don't think the image warrants all those warnings of yours... :)

I'm still trying to decipher it, esp the various bits of debris and fragments lying around. The lighting is very suggestive, but I haven't found out yet of what.

My only critique point so far would be that all the bodily fluids look very fake.

Cheers
Steffen.

Leigh,

I like it. Very unusual and creative. I'd agree though that fluids look very fake, e.g. blood doesn't look saturated enough. My first impression was that it was an egg masacre :-)

Cheers
Alex

I like it and think it is very creative. I also agree the fake blood is probably not the right formula for close up work

Surely you could have used the real stuff for this - dedication to your art and all that...

It's a good shot and slightly confronting, but it almost like a spoof (if you will excuse the pun) on a confronting shot, I guess the fakeness of everything adds a lighter element to it. hmm I am not sure i am getting this across

Bugger.

Should've used the thicker stuff I've got laying around.

That's actually the second time someone has told me that over this image.

I'm just in a experimental mood when it comes to photography, I think. I think I'm trying out some rather radical ideas from my point of view to see if I can enjoy the act of the setup and then the act of taking the picture.
