Times like this I think the "maximum 4 pictures per post" rule stinks :!: :)

First one is my pick.

Dan,

Nice work, I really like what you are doing with shot #1, actually I don't mind looking at any of them  I certainly don't think any are too close to the bone, how did you find the shoot yourself, was it at all... uncomfortable, or did you both handle it maturely ?

Dan, really like the first. The 2nd may be stronger with a slight bit more contrast between skin tone and background. Maybe a slightly different background or a suntan?

Definitely the 1st one for me also. Nice work mate :) :)

Where do I find a girl who will model like that for me :P:P

Hmm, with the first I like the lighting but the focus doesn't really work for me. I'd prefer either her whole body in focus, or something particular sharp with the rest not. It strikes me as a "good idea" shot, maybe play with it a bit more.

The second seems blown to me - too high key. But I know other people like that effect much more than I do. your call :)

The third one works for me. I like the clean shapes and contrast between the clock and model. Perhaps a touch less hip-swing but that's very subjective - the muscles on her left side don't quite fit but I'm not sure how I'd direct the model to improve it.

One question from me... how do you deal with bruised models? I have a friend wanting photos but her wonderful clear skin shows every blemish really clearly, so she always has dark blotches from bumping thing (suggesting she spend a month not doing anything is not one of the options).

Love these. Very tastefully done.

Is that a Wicked Weasel in number 2? I'm a big fan of WW!

Number 1, as everyone has said is a real standout. I seriously love the milky tone of the woman's skin in no.2 tho - just gorgeous.

Well done.

I like the third but would probably clone out the part in her hair so that it was all black....?

Nice work keeping your cool and getting some great shots.

1st and 3rd works for me. #2 just looks too weird for my taste. #4 is good too but it looks just like a standard magaziney shoot,..... plus she had too much clothes on

Classical nudes are one of the most difficult subjects for a photographer. It is difficult to produce works that don't look like cheesecake or calander girls or pin-ups. For an art student the big question is "when does an image lift itself above the others and actually become art?" The human body displays itself on a 2 dimensional screen or print as tones, texture, form, lines, colour and shape. These are the elements that you need to manipulate and control. Your first image uses all of these compositional elements in a balanced way to my eye. The other shots tend to be more of a commercial nature...well handled but little that is unique. I have known a number of very skilled photographers who attempted to produce gallery - quality nudes and most of them succeeded only occasionally. They never gave up and nor should you. Keep at it and nail it.
Thanks for posting them.

Amazing, mention nudity and everyone becomes a critic all of a sudden. Well I'm not! And I'm not choosing either.....I'll take all of them - just don't let my wife see this thread.

Moz, for the model you mentioned perhaps she could get some make-up in her skin tone to cover any marks or blemishes. Another option would be an all-over fake tan.

Oh, Oh here she comes!!!!
Cheers,
Mick

Thanks for the comments....i wanted a commercial element to some as i want to shop them (maybe) to publishers, and sad to say, you need that style in amongst that. Trust me i love the weirder stuff, but it just gets (me anyhow) nowhere. Here are some more "magazine style" shots. Maybe my heading was not wored right. Ask anyone to define "Fine Art" and they all have a different take?

Great shots, I think she wore wickedweasel bikinis. I like their clothing, it seems to suit some girls. Keep up the good stuff!
