At approximately 1145hrs, crews were turned out to the report of bush fire at Douglas St, Sandgate. Upon arrival crews reported the area alight, and further appliances were responded. Douglas Street incident control was established, and 2 helitaks were deployed. Nashville State School was evacuated due to the smoke hazard. Crews on scene were: 514a (Sandgate pump), 521a (Taigum pump), 668 & 669 (Helitaks), BA3, and Brisbane City Council fire suppression units.

i love number 3 and 4! the black and white works so well, and the stopped action of number four, actually all the helicopter ones for that matter, are just great!

A nice collection of shots here Mark, up to your usual high standards. The first one is almost a pearler, just missing a little something. The black and white has a great feel to it, the atmosphere is thick.

thanks Craig... I was telling Michael earlier that i'm not 100% happy with #1 as it's lacking something. Not sure what it is yet. Funny angle as that is from a lookout above the ground.... but I don't think that's what has me umming about it. The original has better colour saturation, but still hasn't quite got 'it' ..

cheers

I really like No.2 and 3. Love the fire in No. 2 and the sun ray in No.3.

Good work.

But you do it so well!
Great work! I think my fav is the last one... A good example how a perfectly frozen image can still impart a sense of momentum

Mark - always interesting pics from you but now and again you produce (in my humble opinion) a standout - in this case #3 :)

Mark,

Possibly the same old same old for you - but I personally don't tire of it. Thanks for sharing. With regard to #1 and why it doesn't seem quite there - for me it doesn't look balanced. Perhaps if you tried some different cropping it could shape up.

I'm a chopper lover so #4 does it for me. It looks like a very effective method in remote areas.

Cheers,

Thanks Craig. Yeh.. the choppers are excellent at what they do.. but when they are around it limits the shots I can take of the firefighters... :)
