Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.

Ahhhh, you'll have me drinking coffee before too long. I think it might look even more interesting without the Illy at the bottom - yeah I know you need a cup to catch the coffee. Perhaps crop the cup out and see what you think. Looks tempting Cheers, Mick :D :D :D

Nice colours.

I'm not sure if that's coffee, but it looks... interesting.

I think between 5-10 seconds once the pour started, probably closer to 5 sec. I have some better shots once the pour progressed to a single spout but can't upload at the moment.

I am sure it tasted better than it looked...

Postby zafra52 on Sun Sep 17, 2006 10:37 am

I am sure it tasted better than it looked, but still is a very interesting picture. I think it is. I would have preferred the coffee and drops all in focus even if the coffee machine was not. Quite a good shot, really. Now, what I want to know is ... how many coffees did have to make to take one picture? :D :D :D

Typically, I would take a shot like this to focus on the main part of the 'funnel' and just shoot away. I didn't anticipate getting this shot with the two drops, so yeah, it would have been better if it was in focus.

To answer your question, this was the first coffee of the day and I took about 5 shots of it.

Thanks for the, ahem, feedback everyone

I have taken Mick's advice and cropped the cup out. (obviously not the last one!)

With a shot like this, you really get a 'Guinness' effect (particularly in a glass cup), with the crema slowly dissipating.

Ideas for coffee related photos

Postby Reschsmooth on Wed Sep 20, 2006 3:06 pm

Ok, a lot of the photos I take of coffee seem to be very similar - photos taken from below of an extraction of coffee!

I would be very interested in ideas you all may have about different forms of coffee related photos as sometimes I seem to struggle to be 'inspired'.

Cheers
