My Tamron 90mm arrived today and BlacknStormy wouldn't leave work without my sworn promise to post some pics once I got home and strapped it on the old D70. I love this lens but have a lot to learn!

C&C appreciated.

Apologies for the reflection of the SB800 diffuser in the first shot (that's No1 on the list of things not to do next time!)

Bloody nice shots Simon, the 2nd one I would have pulled back a little to give more of a feel of exactly what you are seeing.

My thoughts.

Cheers :D

I dont mind the diffuser showing in the 1st one. Bejesus it is sharp.

I agree with Blackspear about the second. Maybe a tad close for mine.

Thanks guys. Yeah - I can't believe how sharp this lens is. I may never touch my 70-300G ever again!

Point taken about the saxophone but this was a deliberate shot for Rel - she plays sax as well.

Sure, but it could be the brass smoke stacks of steamship, or maybe a pipe organ   :D

Cheers :D

Great shots Simon :) And yes, I do appreciate the sax :)

Mic - it does feel a bit that way..!

Glen - my youngest daughter is my long-suffering subject for these sort of things. I'm sure she walks into walls after sessions with me due to flash blindness.

Rel - I knew you'd recognise it straight away.

:)

I like #1 too - and I don't think the catch light matters a whit.

You're right there Chris! Mine are a weird green/grey colour and look ghastly in photos.

Jethro - thanks for the positive comments mate.

Very nice Simon,

I'm looking forward to the shots you take with this lens. I'm also with the club that dosen't see any issue with the catch light in the first shot.

More..more..more..
