I really liked this 'behind the scene' series. Reminds me of a great day :)

Without wanting to cause a fuss Leigh...

I think the behind the scenes shots have more interest in them than the actual portrait shots. How is it that Dee has substantially more character in this series of shots than in the ones being presented in the other posts?

This makes me wonder then if you guys were so busy being serious for the portrait shots that you scared her quiet and so removed any chance of getting genuinely interesting shots.

I'm a bit with Paul having seen these. The portrait shots are all great and show the more formal side of Dee. These images show her more off guarded side and in many ways are more interesting pic for that - but they aren't portraits which was the focus of the day. I especially like #2.

Peter isn't #2 a portrait ? It is in my book, I dont' think portraits have to be "formal" and would love to see some more relaxed and off guard moments posted if people have them.

But I've got the upper-hand here, though. She's one of my best friends. :)

Craig - Yep it's a portrait, just not a formal shot like the others. I probably explained myself poorly.

For me, there's 2 factors involved:
1. Dee is a good friend of Leigh's, so much more likely to relax and joke around with him than with a stranger
2. Leigh is a much better photographer than I am

Thanks for that but my thought was that I'm wondering if a bunch of blokes each with 2 cameras hanging round their neck might have made her suddenly go all serious. :)

It just seemed to me that whilst the other shots contained some very technically excellent work, they didn't capture Dee. Leigh's series in here (for me at least) shows a very different person.

So... Leigh might be a better photographer and a good friend but if I hadn't seen these photos I'd have thought she was this ultra-serious girl with a fairly fixed set of poses.

That said, I am aware that it was a workshop for you guys to play with lighting and such and that therefore the model may have become secondary to the setup.
