I love alpine huts... This is no place for a tent

Mueller Hut, on the Sealy range, Mt Cook NP (yes those are Glaciers behind it... and there are even more below it!)

And looking the other way down in to the valley

And the morning walk to the loo is a chilly affair

Amazing pics MHD and obviously a great holiday. I believe you and your wife were vary daring to do this trip with such a young baby!

Critique:

1st pic - just a tad of lightening of the lower half - the red is quite dull IMO

2nd - maybe some more contrast

3rd - Slap bang in the middle!

Still I really like the shots - wish I had been there

Nice photos, bold holiday choices, but holy frostbite batman.....

My idea of a morning walk to the loo, is battling through quite thickish carpet wearing nothing but a dopey grin. Tents? Possibly one of those beach tents to minimise exposure to the outdoors.

No, we had planned this walk very carefully as we wanted to do it with Isabelle as we had done it before and it is one of our favorites

We are bringing Isabelle into our lives

Yes... Now that my system is repaired I am going to have some fun PP these pics...

MHD - these (and your other recent pics of alpine NZ) are just incredible.

Makes me wanna grab my boots........

Can I ask you how long this particular trek takes to complete? Do you have to book for this trek (as in other NZ walks), and is it crowded?

This is just an overnight walk... Depending on how much gear you take and your level of fitness you can reach the hut in 5-6 hours...

You need to book the hut if you wish to stay in it, it costs $35 a night and its first come first served at the visitor centre on the day of your departure...

So many tourists stay in the valley (in pic 2) and never climb up to see what it looks like and they miss out sorely

What a memorable journey... The pics you're sharing really show the awe inspiring environments you've trecked... Hope you've got the Ugg boots for the midnight trips to the loo ;-)
