Well, I like the shot quite a bit, but I think if you could hold the hot highlights back somewhat, the heavy hand on the contrast would be great. The blown highlights are very distracting.
Nice though. :)

Craig, I think the shadows are the interest here and I would want to see her shadow in the frame, perhaps a landscape view

Here is a B&W of the full frame, the car in the background annoys me.

I think high-contrast B&W works great with 'clean' shapes, not the case in this shot... For instance the walking girl's shape is almost lost in the shade of the fence.
