Thats really cool...
I'm assuming it was done with a longish exposure and a front curtain flash thing?
Could you explain how you did it?
Thanks mate

yeh thats pretty much it MattyO
i used a 1/30th sec exposure with on board flash set to rear-sync and just panned along with the guys.

Did you have to do any fancy flash exposure settings? Or did you just leave that on auto?

Terrific panning! You have a good sense of speed and action in those shots, they turned out great!

Really nice images....well done.
My only very small critisisms would be that the flash seems to have "slightly" overexposed the white shirts.....and I wonder if the subject would stand out more if the background wasn't as bright.
Going back to the theory (which I am rusty on), if you dial in say -0.7 EV compensation on your camera, then dial in the opposite amount to the flash (+0.7 FEC), this should use less ambient light (making the background 2/3rds of a stop darker, but still expose the riders with the same amount of flash as you currently have.
It would be interesting to test this to see what difference it makes in seperating the riders from the background.
If I am incorrect in my assumptions, can someone please correct me, as I'm only working off rusty theory...
Regardless though, some damn fine images !
