2 B&W portraits

Hello guys,

these are 2 portraits of my famous cousin :)
taken with D70s + Carl Zeiss 85mm Planar T* f1.4 ZF.

I woluld love to hear your oppinion.

I like them, esp no.2, but I think a little more DOF on it woulda nailed it, well done!

Some nice moody lighting effects on these shots. Certainly not run of the mill. Its great that you have been able to produce some unique images.

The highlights look to have been blown out a fair bit in the mono conversion.
I would try and regain some detail if possible.

I like both of them and I think as a study of light and shadows are excellent. I prefer the second one because the subject is making eye contact with the viewer.

Thanks a lot guys for the kind words and the suggestions. These shots made with window light. It would be better (and easier) with some lights or with an sb800.
