I really like the giraffe shot Abel. Nicely exposed, good use of DOF. Looks like he's about to lick the opera house. There looks like there is a bit of another giraffe's nose in bottom left of image that's a bit distracting. Might be worth cropping it out.

So what's the new lens you were using?

Cheers
John

I love the gee-raff shot Abel. The first shot has too much empty space for my liking and in the second you've chopped off too much of the subject. The last shot is very nice also and I think it would be even better with just a little more room to the left of the lioness.

I couldn't help but at the third shot. Well done capturing the moment. They look great.

Fixed now, thanks for the suggestion :D Didn't notice it at all before. The lens is only a $170 nikon 55-200, nothing to get too excited about

I still feel that the empty space around the meerkat helps to convey its frustation. You convinced me about the 2nd and the 4th though, they are both uncropped full-frame shots however so unfortunately I'll have to wait until the next time :(

That giraffe portrait is excellent. I really like the framing of the opera house.

Hi,

#1 this is overexposed but a nice pic of the rodent
#2 classic koala pic except for the missing rear-end
#3 I agree this is lovely, but there is a yellow / orange cast on chin and neck and the greens are browny-green - I think the white balance may be a tad high
#4 this is the best, lovely 'expression'

The girrafe shot is a ripper image. Great subject contrast and juxtaposition.
