Theres about 6 - 8 more shots in the sequence, but I think the four that are here give a good indication. I laughed pretty hard at old matey saving his D2x and 300mm. Hehehe....

These are good Alan. I hope you're putting the D2x high speed crop mode to good use.

What lens were these taken with?

Thanks mate. They were taken with the Sigma 120-300mm F/2.8

This is only the second time I've had it trackside and it continues to make me happy.

Raskill - unfortunately that's another lens I can't afford - it sure is giving some nice results though.
When you get a chance maybe you could post a link to some of the sequences you are taking - they would be great to see.

Ras, mate love the shots and i only wish i could be there doing this race as well but it is a long way for me to travel to something like this but will sit back in the comfort of the lounge and watch it on tv. Well done mate keep them coming.

Great stuff. You're obviously working very hard and not enjoying this at all.

In the first image, I might be inclined to crop some of the road surface from the bottom of the image: use the white line on the left as your guide: remove the line completely, cropping it, and the adjacent roadway below the car with it, and see how that leaves the image.

Good shots Alan. I like #3. It sure is a good spot to take shots. Hope the sun keeps shining till Sunday.

Simon, trust me, the last thing you're gunna be thinking when more than 1 tonne of metal comes flying out of control in your direction is "I better get that shot". The human bodies 4F system (fright, flight, fight, make love) takes over and generally gets those legs pumping in the opposite direction to the oncoming car pretty quick.

i dont know, guess its a sign of a pure motorsport photographer, i've seen a guy at wanneroo stand his ground as a car slammed into the concrete wall at wanneroo right in front of him, and at rally australia some guys run while others just keep shooting. It could also be stupidity, but i always admire the ppl who go the extra mile to get a good shot.
