Hi everyone,

Just came back from my China F1 trip. We have been going for 3 years now and this was the first time it rained. It was also the first time I had the 70-200 VR with me (last year I used the 70-300 ED). Definately appreciate the extra light the lens lets in conditions like the ones we had. Only tookpictures during qualifying...here is a sample

Any comment / critique (good or bad) is welcome and appreciated :D

Cheers

Mike

Top stuff. Apart from being green with envy I love the shots. The 4th with the spray coming off the McLaren is a beauty :D

Some fantastic images there Mike, nicely executed - isn't the 70-200VR just a magic lens? I did a family portrait shoot yesterday and used it for about 80% of the shoot! Just a gentle reminder, that the file size of the images are a little big, we like to keep them down to around less than 120kb so that our members on dialup aren't limited to their viewing pleasure. Well done none the less!

These are top shots knowing the harsh condition and lighting you have to face with the rain and overcast skies. :)

Then maybe a tighter crop on #1 & #2?

Cheers guys..I am glad I splurged and bought this lens. Like you Geoff I use it a lot for portraits as well as sports and its just fantastic. And now after a wet F1 GP where the light was quite dodgy, I couldnt be happier with it.

Sorry about the size  I am a cable snob, and I apologize and keep images to less than 120kb...

Yi-P, 1 & 2 were the only 2 (from this set) uncropped. 3 and 4 had slight crops...I suppose for the top two I wanted to "set the scene"...but I know what you are saying...

Thanks again...

I find the stopping sand-pits on the top part of the first two distracting, I got confused at first sight whether its a tight turn track or its the sandpit...

I like #3. It's good to see some close racing action in these type of photos.
