This shot shows how close you need to get to achieve some of the great flower shots we're seeing at the moment. It's of Oscar using one of my extension tubes at the weekend, with a 50mm.



Now, some of the pics you're seeing would have been even closer to the subject. Those who haven't tried this form of photography should - when you get it right, it's brilliant. It is, however, very frustrating, and sometimes you have to be a contortionist to get the angles right

The day was a good learning experience for me.
The ext tubes were fun to work with - think I'll be after a set of these shortly - or a macro lens (when I can afford one - getting closer to the next lens purchase with every passing day).
