Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Hey all,
Seeing as it was a great day today, a friend and I took our cars out for a drive through Uriarra Forest. Thought I'd share a couple of the photos I took. I did however, find it a little difficult taking photos and keeping the car on the right track. As such, missed out on a number of good action shots.
I was trying to convey the steepness of the track in the second pic, not sure if it shows actually how steep it was.
It was a blast out there and just out of curiosity, any members in Canberra own a 4wd? Would love to head out again but my mate does shift work and doesn't get too many wkends off.

The power goes to 4 wheels on the Liberty... and it's been on Forest tracks before... but somehow I don't think the ground clearance is up to it, nor the shiny bodywork, or the low profile tyres

Yes, I was surprised that there was not more regrowth. Maybe it was an indication of how really, really, really hot the fires burnt.

Well,
some article in the newspaper suggested that the energy had been equivalent to a number of NUKES
Anyway - some areas have been recovering nicely , some not

Sadly i think the regrowth problem was related to the large number of pine plantations out there. Pine wont regenerate.
I dont own a 4WD but would love to go if you need company. I love a good bone jarring every now and then.

Take your camera with you and get some great shots.
If you want to go bush, there is allways Tidbinbilla or Namadgi.
No 4 wheel necessary but good two legs.
