Posted: Thu Oct 19, 2006 12:43 amAlex - only critique I can make on #1 and #2 is - feet. Either totally in the pic or out. In #2 (I’m having a bra week) the model on the left is showing a rather large amount of a terrible bra - let them know or take another angle

To nitpick, the flash in the first seems abit too strong, while in #2, I think the framing is abit too tight and the pose un-model-like.

Posted: Thu Oct 19, 2006 3:02 amfirst one is good in terms of idea. but she just looks like she's forcing her smile. personally I think from a shot from eye level and dialing the flash down a stop or two would have worked even better.
i don't mind the second one except the crop is a tad tight.

I'm with Chris on the feet and also the bra in #2. And agree with the Abel on the flash.

Yi-P. The lighting was ambient + remote sb800 at 10 o'clock position with respect to the subject. Flash triggered by in-built D70 flash. The technique was originated by Wendell, except I use remote due to absence of SC-29/28 cord.

Does this mean, you held the SB800 with your left hand at 10 o'clock aiming at the models?
Where the flash pointed somewhere else for a bounce? Doesnt look much like a direct flash there.

That's right, held the flash with my left hand aiming directly at the models. Didn't bounce, just diffused with a standard diffuser.
