I feel itchy just looking at the beast. Mosquitoes just love to bite me and when they do I come up it blotches, which itch a lot. Death to them, I say! By the by, how did you manage to get the subject still while you play with the camera? Good and sharp photo though.

You are quite right! The mosquito in the first picture is not as sharp as in the second. However, I feel there is more depth of field in the first one and it does not come across to me as staged as the second picture. Having said this, the second picture could be more suitable to illustrate an ad or article for mosquito repellents.
