this is the entrance to a park i was at thursday taken from inside
aperture f14 exposure time 1/100 sec focal length 28mm
interrested to see what the forum think

Hi pa,
This is a tough one. The composition is ..almost.. there. If the top of the tree hadn't been cut off, and the column on the left not cut off, and the leg of the bench... the composition would be more complete IMHO.
It is also quite flat and I would suggest you try some sharpening which may bring the picture out a little.
The exposure on the foreground is too low (tough with the bright clouds). Fill flash will still work in this situation, you may have to boost it up a lot though. You could also fix this in post-processing by selecting the foreground and bringing up the levels some.

thanks justin,i said to my daughter after seeing it on the computer i should have stood back a bit to get the tree and structure all in

This is a difficult subject Pa. Try to focus more on the subject and cut out the distractions...not sure how to photograph this place though....tough..
