As is the custom ( ), I've thrown together a quick pano of the view from the grounds along the memorial walk...



Imagine this view on a nice day - or on New Years Eve!

Terrific pano Leon, as you say would be interesting to see on a nice day or at night.

You certainly are the king of pano's Leon! Even though it's overcast, it's a beautiful scene and you've stitched it nicely. Mind sharing how many images this is stitched together? Was this hand held too? I don't recall you using a tripod all day.

lol - don't know about being King of Pano's Geoff Once I get the pics taken I pretty much let Panorama Factory do the rest!

This one is 8 shots stitched - yes, handheld - it's a matter of getting the camera settings right and pivoting correctly Helps if the point of interest is a reasonable distance from you, otherwise the distortion becomes a problem! I was a bit lazy with this one, and am not sure if I set everything correctly - will have a better idea when I look at doing this with the NEF's (in this case, I've used the JPG's unprocessed - As it looks worthwhile, I'll probably spend some more time with it using the NEF's later).

Very interesting pano, Leon. Obviously, there wasn't a lot of colour to be captured. Which makes me think, maybe this could be hightened into some dark, brooding, foreboding image through PP?

I'm very sad that I couldn't be there yesterday (and mad at the tools that kept me from being there). I was already way on my way when I got a phone call and had to turn back to work, attending an urgent matter at the DC, which - in hindsight - would have taken me 5 minutes on the phone to sort out.
