I Show My Love to You

I was inspired by this idea. Not sure if it has been done here before or if its quite famous. But I gave it a go and refined it a bit.

The ring and the "Love" behind it. Now from my creation, both the shadow and the light of love over the ring...

I can't find an engagement or marriage ring... I'm not married yet, thats why.. :P

I'd like to know how will it be the impression if shown to the partner... :)

I really like the square crop - the reflections at the bottom don't really add anyhitng and I think it's best they're cropped out. Nice work, Yi-P!

before I got a good chance to see what it was projected onto, I thought that it was being projected onto a pair of buttocks...

I like #2 &3.

To be critical though, I would prefer the lighting to be abit more symmetrical, ,the words on the left page to be abit more legible (especially since it has the world "love" on it), and the dictionary to be a french one instead

Love your idea for this one Yi-P. I preffer the second shot but cropping in tighter at either side may improve it.
Perhaps if you are still working on this concept you could see if you could shape the light on the pages a bit differently to try and continue the top of the heart shape (if anyone understands what I mean).
Well done Yi-P. Cheers, Mick :) :) :)

Its bit hard to get symmetrical light projection on the dictionary, the "L" letter is not really in the middle of the dictionary as its sides are not really symmetrical when opened up.

Great suggestion on the French dictionary, but I only have the Spanish-English dictionary at home..

Mick,
I dont really get what you mean by "... and continue the top of the heart shape"

To try to explain - cut a bit of cardboard as a block out for the light so as to allow the light that falls onto the pages to follow the lines of the love heart you have lower on the page (which looks great) - only the patch which is lit on the page is larger and shaped like the top of the love heart. It almost does this already.

Very nice Yi-P!
I like 2 and 3.

How did you get the heart shapes light there ? Is that from the angle of the lighting coming off the ring or the shape/style of the ring itself ?

Its from the light source, a circular (sorta) brighted area from the light's focus lens, same principle as the ring's shadow, but now its light...

Light used is an adjustable focus hand torch for spotlight effect, nothing else more than a complete dark room. English-Spanish dictionary, a few heavy stuffs to keep it open. Camera tripod mounted, manual focus. ISO 200, 85mm, 1/160 @ f/1.4. And the rest is straight from camera...

Geez Yi-P wondered where you were going with a heading like that

Very Gothic looking, like the DAH, Vincie code which I watched last night.

Mic.
Interesting though.

Wow, I've never seen anything like this before (even if you did get your inspiration from somewhere else). It's very creative and effective!!!

In terms of which crop I prefer, I like the square crop.
