I've come back to these images a couple of times before commenting and there is something about that first shot that just works. It's a very candid, relaxed pose (or non pose I guess :wink:

) and the way the light falls on your colleagues face is spot on. As is the exposure. Shows the quality of both the camera and the photographer.

i seriously feel there's a level of expectation from myself with the new camera to strive to improve and be more creative

Both are nice. No. 1 is great very nice lighting.
