Taken at Stockton beach today.

Weather was mixed. Windy. Lots of great clouds, but sun kept hiding.

These are the first shots in a long time that I've come home from a shoot and been very pleased with.









These are the colours I love to get out of the camera. I think I finally discovered the secret that everyone else has known all along . Early morning or late afternoon.

I'm envious though... last time I went to Stockon, there wasn't a cloud in the sky... certainly nothing like you've been able to work with here

I take it they were taken with your tokina 12-24

I picked up my tokina last week and can't wait to give it a good outing

Hey Pippin, I like these shots a lot. Especially the 3rd and 4th ones... though looking at the larger images to me they seem to be missing something in the foreground... not sure what, but it just feels a little empty.

I really like the processing you've done on them too.

Yes, I second this, really like the last two...

About the empty spaces in the front, maybe a dried out fireplace, or easier part, some footsteps may add a well leading line into the tin house

Either way, they are great shots!!

footsteps, now that's a great idea!.. now, how to get there and back and leave just one set of prints...

Walk there from the other side and backstep back into the camera's point... or just bring something to clean up the footsteps along

Yep, taken with the Tokina. Very nice lens.

These are my favourite shots in a long long time. Think I might actually be remotivated now.

Owen: I like the sort of desolation feel. While they are obviously man made, it doesn't look like anyone has been there recently.
I would have like to get a few shots closer, so the shed fills more of the frame. Perhaps a lower angle too.
However, those two were the only two shots I got of that shack, and I'm very pleased with them.

Had another go at PP on the first one.
I like the corner being a bit hot (but it was mainly a consequence of getting the rest of the shot right).

These will definately be going in my portfolio and printed and framed.
Come to think of it, the only shots in my portfolio are from stockton, with the exception of one, which was from my heli flight.

Nothing much to add to all that was said above but just wanted to comment on how great these shots are. I especially like the how you've captured the clouds, and specifically those in #2 are fantastic.

Love the colors!!! You've set the bar very high... not sure I could produce anything like it with my Tokina

oh yeah, that's the way to take photos.

Fantastic colours and it really makes the subjects look natural, like they are a part of the environment.

These are fantastic shots. The colour sats are brilliant. Doesn't get much better

Nick, amazing shots.

My preferences are for 3&4, although I think 3 is the better of the two as the lines of 4 seem to 'consistant', in terms of the building and the clouds, whereas, in 3, the back- and foreground act more as a foil to the building, and the lines look more 'harmoneous'.
